The problem of all the panic-makers is their short memory. The Swiss franc has been steadily rising against the dollar since the 1960s or so. In the fall of 1977 there was a demonstration in Bern, before the Parliament building, where people called on the government not to let the Swiss franc rise to below 2 francs per 1 dollar, a long forgotten exchange rate. The latest jump in the value of Swiss franc is likely to be not more than a temporary hiccup in watch sales. People will become used to the higher prices and will continue in their drive after quality timepieces.

Swiss Watchmakers - given the cost of making the watch is about 5% of the retail cost... probably not a huge problem if the cost doubles or triples even.
